MU Strategic Communication Career Fair

"Level Up" Campaign

Screen Shot 2019-01-11 at 4.35.38 PM.png

What do you do when you're asked to market the anxiety-provoking experience of a "career fair" to a group of college students? Make it a game of course!

The "Level Up" campaign was used to promote registration for the MU 2019 Strategic Communication Career Fest. Deliverables across digital, print, and video touch points encouraged our target audience to take the first step toward achieving their post grad goals by attending the various "Career Fest" events. Our campaign reached over 300 MU students and 38 agencies across the country.

level #1: "what I wish I knew" event

What I Wish I Knew was an event that provided students an opportunity to listen to a panel of recent graduates talk about how they got their first job out of college with a Q&A session at the end. We referred to the event as "Level 1" and pushed messaging through print posters in the journalism school, email, and social media. We met our attendance goal and filled the event to capacity.

level #2: resume & portfolio workshop

The Resume and Portfolio Workshop is an opportunity for students to sign up for a resume and portfolio review session with qualified alumni. We referred to the event as "Level 2" and pushed messaging through print posters in the journalism school, email, and social media.

level #3: recruiter meet & greet

The Meet and Greet event takes place the night before the Career Fair. Students who sign up will get the chance to talk with the recruiters in a relaxed environment without any pressure or business talk. We referred to the event as "Level 3" and pushed messaging through print posters, email, and social media.

level #4: the career fest

The main event is the Career Fest itself. The final marketing push included posters, emails, social posts, and content targeted at recruiters/agencies. We had an incredibly successful event with over 300 students in attendance and almost 40 agencies from around the country.
